All arrangements in place for Shivaratri

Hyderbad Feb 15 : Elaborate arrangements are being made by the district administration and the Endowments Department for the successful conduct of the three-day Mahashivaratri jatara at Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Devasthanam in Vemulawada temple town, which would be held from February 23 to 25, including the main festival of Mahashivaratri on February 24.As the festival is being held for the first time in the newly formed Rajanna-Sircilla district, the authorities are leaving no stone unturned to make it a grand event.


Accordingly, Vemulawada legislator Ch Ramesh Babu held a review meeting with Collector Krishna Bhaskar, Superintendent of Police Vishwajit K, temple EO Rajeshwar and others at the temple town on Tuesday.On the occasion, the Collector said that they would spruce up the temple town by depicting the history of the temple shrine for the benefit of pilgrims.


He said that the district administration is planning to introduce RTC mini-buses for the benefit of physically challenged persons and senior citizens from the RTC bus station to the temple shrine.Mr. Bhaskar said that the district administration would be setting up seven parking spaces.About seven ‘May I Help You’ counters would be set up for providing proper guidance to pilgrims. Adequate arrangements were being made for the supply of drinking water and proper sanitation by deploying 600 personnel at the shrine.


The Superintendent of Police said that they are making adequate security arrangements by deploying six DSPs, 19 Inspectors, 82 Sub-Inspectors, 225 ASIs, 512 head constables, 44 women home guards, 498 home guards, besides 108 personnel of district guards. There would be surveillance of the entire temple town by installing CCTV cameras, he said.State Cultural Council Director Mamidi Harikrishna said that they would organise cultural programmes on the sprawling temple tank land with over 500 artistes of various promotions.The officials also inspected sites for parking vehicles and reviewed the arrangements in the town.
