A woman tried to make a suicide attempt along her daughter by jumping from the seventh floor of the Nizamabad Government General Hospital (GGH). She complained sexual harassment by her brother-in-law and demanded action against him.The husband of Narra Kalavathi, a resident of Lingi Tanda of Muttakunta Gram Panchayati in Nizamabad district, died two years ago leaving behind three daughters. After the demise of her husband, her brother-in-law Narra Pedda Sailoor started sexually harassing Kalavathi and when she protested sent her out of the house.
Kalavathi tried to take the extreme step, but the hospital’s security guards and staff rescued her. She was promised to get justice.
From the last few months, Kalavathi was living along with her younger daughter and admitted her two daughters in an orphanage. Kalavathi said that, her brother-in-law Sailoo sexually harassed her many times. She said that she had complained about it with the Nizamabad rural police in June 2017, but till now no action was taken against him.
