Telangana CM KCR to visit Tirumala TirupatI

Hyderabad Feb 21 : As Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao plans to visit the Tirumala Tirupati temple for two days, the newly formed state’s CM’s thanksgiving trip will be costing the taxpayer Rs 5.6 crore. Accompanied by his wife, other family members and state ministers, KCR will leave for Tirupati in a special flight tomorrow evening to fulfil the vows he had made for realisation of separate Telangana state.


According to a report by NDTV, while on his visit the Telangana CM will be presenting a solid gold ornament to Lord Balaji and a nose stud to Goddess Padmavati, later in the week KCR will further present a gold moustache to the Veerbhadraswamy temple at Kuravi. Earlier in October Chandrasekhar Rao presented a 12 Kg gold crown worth Rs 3.5 crore to Goddess Bhadrakali at Warangal. He had, earlier, presented a crown and a necklace to Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala and a nose stud to Goddess Kanaka Durga in Vijayawada.


As per a release issued by the Telangana Chief Minister’s office, Rao would have ‘darshan’ of the presiding deity in the morning hours on Wednesday. He would offer golden ‘Saligrama’ necklace and a ‘Kante’ with five rows to the god on behalf of Telangana government.


After darshan at Tirumala, Rao would go to Tiruchanoor near Tirupati and offer prayers to the presiding deity of Padmavati Ammavaru. He would present a nose stud to the goddess. He would return to Hyderabad thereafter, the release added.KCR had made vows for realisation of separate Telangana in the name of gods of different famous temples during the separate statehood agitation.
